It is so strange to me that I have no problem wrapping my head around a piece of canvas, or a blank page. . .but an empty space? It has to be so right before I even have the nerve to make it a permanent or even semi-permanent piece in a room. . .

Design Sponge is great for inspiring the DIY pros and the wanna-be's with its many "how did they think of that?" before and after pictures and inspirations.

I was recently on another site where they were highlighting an illustrator who takes childrens' drawings and makes them into full-color grown-up illustrations. Though his illustrations are quite amazing, I'm afraid that it would just freak out our resident, 4 yr. old artist to see his scribbles turned into life-like paintings. . .
Still, it could be fun to make the machine monster, who supposedly makes bad toys into good toys (a result of a lot of Nightmare Before Christmas this holiday season, no doubt), a fun painting for his studio.
